| FOCUS: MILAN FURNITURE FAIR |
Now in its forty-third year, Milan’s annual
Salone Internazionale del Mobile is the most important date in the
international design calendar. At the Salone, and the numerous satellite
shows that take place in warehouses and showrooms dotted all over town, you
can find every type of furniture and product: from beds and sofas to lights
and crockery (and inbetween there are lots and lots of chairs). It’s also a
launchpad for innovative new products and experimental design techniques;
and a chance to preview design trends that will filter down to the
highstreet in a few years time. Marcel Krenz, Liz Brown and Mark Rappolt
take a look at some of the movers and shakers.![]() The Salone Internazionale del Mobile takes place between 14 and 19 April. See www.cosmit.it for further detials. Future Factories, LM light (wireframe), 2004. Courtesy: designersblock |
